Bearing in mind that the operator is key to getting the best out of any earthmoving machine, Barloworld Equipment flew in an international Caterpillar demonstrator and application specialist when long-time customer SPH bought a new Cat 365B-II hydraulic excavator recently.

Gert Ploeg, the specialist based in The Netherlands, and often seen demonstrating Cat equipment at the Caterpillar test and demo centre in Malaga, Spain, first gave freely of his time and expertise to SPH at the Xstrata Kroondal chrome mine, near Rustenburg, before moving on to help other Cat customers optimise production on various sites in Gauteng and the Northern Cape Province.
