In the Mining section this month CEN covers the Mining Indaba and interviews Bell Equipment and CK Aerial Surveys to hear what is cutting in the industry. We also have a look at how the African continent contines to be a magnet for growth and investment in the Into Africa section and we take a look at a couple of local companies' forays into the ‘Darkest continent', namely: Skyriders, KBC and WearCheck.

Construction looks at road making equipment and once again, Linden Comansa seems to be everywhere. In this issue we see how, with 14 Flat-Top tower cranes, they are involved in the construction of several viaducts on a highway in Portugal. So too, Polymer Pavements, has developed their industrial strength SoilTech polymer stabilisers for heavy haul mine roads, and is now extending its service offering to the local road construction industry in South Africa.

Our Environment section covers German specialties chemicals group, LANXESS, that invested EUR 40- million to build a CO2 concentration unit at its South African site in Newcastle, and, as always, there is plenty more to read in all the Regulars covered in this jam-packed issue.
