NCP Chlorchem is a South African-based manufacturer and distributor of chlor alkali products and derivatives targeted at the water treatment, industrial, paper and fine chemicals markets. The facility is located at Chloorkop and is the second largest in South Africa.
Chlorchem's modern facilities, along with the availability of low cost electricity, allows the company to compete with a cost structure that compares favourably to other global chlor alkali producers.
NCP Chlorchem has approximately 35% of the current chlor alkali capacity in South Africa. Demand and supply for chlor alkali products in South Africa is generally driven by chlorine demand. Imports of chlorine are not a factor due to logistical constraints in the handling of the chemical. The national demand for caustic soda far exceeds supply, therefore new opportunities for chlorine consumers are much sought after.
Several distributors domestically represent the business' products. These distributors are strategically located to ensure the most timely response and service to the needs of the business' customers throughout South Africa. Additionally, Chlorchem is represented by various distributors serving customer needs outside of South Africa.
