April 2002
GeoFranki has recently completed a complex lateral support contract on two cuttings, which are part of the upgrade of a major road in Swaziland.
The road contract, which was awarded to WBHO Swaziland, called for the upgrading of the main road from Mbabane to the Ngwenyz broder post to accommodate increasing traffic flows between the Kingdom of Swaziland and South Africa.
This involved the construction of dual carriageways with a central concrete median barrier, street lighting, four interchanges and seven pedestrian footbridges. A major challenge was the large rock cuttings along the route.
