Comfort, performance and fuel efficiency are all featured in Mitsubishi's 3 and 4 tonne truck range.
DaimlerChrysler AG recently bought a 37 per cent share in the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation to increase its presence in the strong Asian markets. DaimlerChrysler South Africa is one of the first markets to incorporate Mitsubishi Motors' products in its line-up. This includes the popular Mitsubishi Canter range.
Mitsubishi's medium-sized Canter trucks are a reflection of their long-standing relationship with South Africa - some 21 000 Mitsubishi Canter trucks have been sold in this country.
The two model range of 3 and 4 tonne workhorses, which are powered by 3,5 and 3,9 litre diesel and turbo diesel engines, feature high interior specification levels in keeping with Mitsubishi's 'Full Comfort"" concept.
The current models underline the company's role as a significant player in the highly competitive medium-sized commercial vehicle market.
The new generation 3,9 litre engines are a part of Mitsubishi's drive towards smaller trucks with high power outputs and cleaner engines. Large engines capacities make a significant improvement to ride comfort and fuel efficiency, while providing enhance smoothness. The five-speed manual gearbox, which boasts a one-piece cylindrical transmission case and non-backlash mechanism to reduce idling noise and vibration, plays a further part in producing extremely high comfort levels for this vehicle.
