Construction World travelled to East London in the Eastern Cape for our project profile. Here Radon Projects is breathing new life into this city's Orient Beach esplanade with its landmark R250-million hotel and conference complex development. The East London International Convention Centre and the 261-room hotel hopes to attract investment and business travellers to this city.
Another very interesting project is the pedestrian bridge that was built as part of the Gauteng Freeway Improvement project on the N1. AfriSam supplied self-levelling concrete for this project - it has a consistency like pancake batter and was chosen because it can easily penetrate the intensely congested spaces caused by the internal stressing ducts, reinforcing and attachments for cables.
Shopping malls and office developments
This month Construction World focuses on shopping malls and office developments.
