On the project front Construction World has an interesting article on Bonne Nouvelle. Although most of the cliff side sea-fronting blocks below Victoria Road in Cape Town's prestigious Bantry Bay have been completely renovated or replaced in the last three decades, Bonne Nouvelle (at 44 Victoria Road) now 52 years old, has until recently remained in much the same condition and configuration as it was when it was built in the mid-1960s. What resulted was a three year renovation process.
Esorfranki Geotechnical has secured two contracts for work at the No. 1 Silo project at Cape Town's V & A Waterfront, while the magazine carries an extensive article on Slipform construction specialists, the Karrena-Concor Joint Venture, extensive innovation in order to meet advanced deadlines for the construction of two 213 metre chimneys and nine coal and fly ash silos for the mammoth Medupi Power Station in Limpopo Province.
