Electricity + Control

February 1999

Two of Banner's most popular self-contained photoelectric sensor families now offer models which may be powered by the full range of either ac or dc voltage. SMU315 Series MINI-BEAM sensors operate from 24 to 240 Vac/dc and offer a 3 A rated single-pole-double-throw (SPDT) electromechanical output relay. SMU315 Series sensors are slightly longer than standard MINI-BEAMS, but these Universal Voltage sensors retain the familiar shape and the performance that you've come to expect from the MINI-BEAM.
The Q45 sensor family now includes two new Universal Voltage products. Q45BW13 Series sensors feature an opto-isolated SPST solid-state output switch rated for 300 mA loads at up to 250 Vac/dc. Q45VR3 Series models have an SPDT 5 A electromechanical output relay for larger loads. Both Universal Voltage Q45 Series may be powered from either 24 to 250 Vac or 12 to 250 Vdc.
