Banner's new Camera-based sensor is inexpensive and easy to program. The PresencePLUS Pixel-counting sensor captures a 256-level greyscale image of a specified area, converts the image to black and white pixels, counts the pixels and compares the count to use-programmed threshold values to determine a pass or fail judgement. The complete system consists of the sensor (camera) connection cable and a hand-held programming device. The programming device can be removed during normal operation of the sensor and can be used to program a number of sensors. Up to four different sets of parameters can be stored in the programmer, allowing a fast changeover for different products. PresencePLUS inspection systems are a solution tomany inspection applications where a defect can occur anywhere within the sensors field of view.
