Electricity + Control

May 2000

GE Power Management's universal relay is designed to serve as the 'engine' for substation automation. The relays feature high performance protection with high speed open standard peer to peer communications - the necessary components of a succesful 21st century power system. The logic that determines the interactino of inputs, features and outputs is re-configurable through the use of logic equations (FlexLogic). The relay has three communication ports that operate independently and simultaneoously. The protocols that are supported are Modbus RTU up to baud rates of 115 kbs and an Ethernet port supporting MMS/UCA2.0, DNP3.0 and Modbus TCP/IP protocols.
