Electricity + Control

August 2001

ABB's range of variable ac drives covers the motor power range 0,12 kW to 27 MW using standard product designs. There are four main types:
The comp-ac range covers the low end of the power spectrum, 0,12 kW to 37 kW, and is suitable for all fan and pump type applications.
The second main drive type is the ACS 600 range with its DTC technology. The power range spans from 1,1 kW to 4 500 kW across the low voltage spectrum. This range of drives is capable of providing the required response for virtually all types of applications, including conveyor drive systems.
The other two drive groups, ACS 1000 and ACS 6000 extend the concepts developed in the ACS 600 range into the medium voltage and higher powers. Here the motors may be of the squirrel cage induction or the synchronous machine design.
