Johannesburg Social Housing Company highlights project progress
JOSCHCO mas made remarkable progress in its bid to provide much-needed decent housing for the poorer residents of Johannesburg. It was established in late 2003 to help eradicate the City of Johannesburg's housing backlog, and has already provided accommodation for more than 3 400 households, homes which it has either built from scratch, or renovated and secured through the City of Johannesburg

Construction at Thembokwezi Lifestyle Estate, a pioneering mixed-use development by Old Mutual Investment Group Property Investments, has begun on a 10 ha site in Site C, Khayelitsha, Cape Town. The Minister of Housing has announced that the Eric Molobi Housing Innovation Hub will host a Training and Testing Centre to train historically disadvantaged home builders, a conference hall for training, seminars and other forums to empower people to understand that there is a world without bricks and mortar
National Credit Act not having a negative effect on affordable housing
RBA Housing says it currently has over 600 houses under construction in 20 project areas. It is hoping to complete a total of 1 037 houses this year and is expecting to complete a further 1 200 next year
