The Institute for Timber Construction (ITC-SA), South Africa’s professional body and regulator of the engineered timber structure industry, is set to attend Wood World, Interbuild Africa 2016, which takes place from 17-20 August at Expo Centre Nasrec in Johannesburg.

ITCSA to exhibit at InterbuildSaid to be the largest building and construction exhibition of its kind in Africa, Interbuild Africa will be host to a number of live demonstrations, conferences, seminars and workshops, providing a trusted platform for the broader construction sector to connect and network.

Lyndsay Cotton, ITC-SA Chairman, notes, “This year marks the first in which the ITC-SA will be exhibiting at Interbuild Africa and we are looking forward to representing our members and the timber construction sector at large at the event under the banner of the inaugural Wood World show. Interbuild Africa plays host to a wide range of construction and related industries, bringing together a rich network of complementary trades that not only have the opportunity to learn from one another, but that can benefit greatly from being connected.”

The ITC-SA’s mandate is to uphold the standards in all aspects of engineered timber construction in the building industry for the benefit of the consumer, through its members. In support of this, the Institute works tirelessly to educate and inform both the trade and the consumer through a number of strategic PR and marketing activities. “Attending highly targeted trade events like Interbuild Africa is an important part of our mission to share knowledge and information with construction professionals and the consumer,” comments Cotton.

According to Roz Nash, Exhibition Manager at Specialised Exhibitions, Interbuild Africa organisers, “Wood World South Africa is being launched this year at the Interbuild Africa Expo and is a joint venture between Specialised Exhibitions Montgomery and Hannover Fairs International, who are the organisers of Ligna, the largest woodworking and timber show in the world.” She adds, “We are very excited about our new show and with the support of many South African associations, like the ITC-SA, we are well equipped and eager to showcase the best timber-related products and services to the marketplace.”

Cotton concludes, “ITC-SA representatives will be available to answer any timber construction-related questions, share educational material and offer general advice on timber roofing, timber frame building and decking. We’re looking forward to a successful show at Interbuild Africa’s Wood World this year and welcome all interested parties to visit the Institute at this foremost construction event.”

The Institute for Timber Construction (ITC-SA) will be exhibiting at Interbuild Africa 2016 from 17-20 August. All are welcome to visit the Institute’s stand at H8A.
