BC Expo South Africa, organiser of Bauma Conexpo Africa, has confirmed that the third edition of the international trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines and construction vehicles will be held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre from March 13 to 16, 2018.

BC Expo South Africa Bauma Conexpo AfricaElaine Crewe, CEO of BC Expo South Africa, is convinced that the new dates in March and the three-year cycle are ideal for the industry and the region. “Bauma Conexpo Africa’s three-year cycle is tailor-made to the needs of the African market. It also gives all the companies involved the chance to prepare thoroughly for such a large event.”

Stefan Otto, chairman of the local industry association CONMESA, agrees, saying that the choice of venue and the new timing, allowing for plenty of time for planning, all provide the ideal basis for a successful industry event.

“With 2018 rapidly approaching as the year of the trade fair, CONMESA is happy to learn that Bauma Conexpo Africa 2018 has decided to break with the norm once again by hosting the next trade fair in March 2018. As advisory board members and partners, CONMESA supports the team at Bauma Conexpo Africa working hard to bring us the international trade fair once again.”

About 616 exhibitors from 42 countries, as well as around 14 300 visitors from 75 countries attended the previous show in September 2015. In total, 13% of visitors were from outside South Africa.
