Strachan & Henshaw's (S&H) material handling expertise has been further enhanced by a strategic growth plan aimed at expanding the company's business on a global basis. Focused initiatives to maximise company activities include developing specialised tools such as virtual prototyping.
This technology was applied to a triple tail car dumper installed at Qinhuangdao in China. Used to demonstrate the unit train car dumper system on site, the model was developed by directly exporting CAD models produced by S&H engineers. The final virtual prototype walkthrough can be exported to PCs as part of a presentation and used to demonstrate capability to clients. The end result is a 'parametric design' with automatic generation of concept machines.
