December 2004

The pneumatic test facility featured on our front cover allows Bateman, the leading supplier of pneumatic conveying systems in South Africa, to confirm the design parameters of a proposed solution prior to delivering final design. Using samples provided by the customer, the company can study flow characteristics and other important factors involved in any particular project or application, thereby ensuring optimum design specifications.

Bateman's product range includes dilute, medium, dense-phase, boosted dense-phase and vacuum systems. These have been installed in most southern African countries, as well as in Asia and North America. Unique innovations include a fully-automated capsule system for conveying high-value goods without any human intervention and a patented, pneumatic drying system.
