Mechanical Technology - February 2010

February 2010

February's economic data seems to be reinforcing the view that the recession might be over. Everyone seems to be advising caution though, appropriate advice if we value a ‘slow but sure' growth over the ‘boom and bust' one.

Our February issue features some stories to again remind us that we are in a modern and developing country and continent: the new WEG W22 electric motors and how to select them to achieve real cost savings going forward; Atlas Copco's compressor solutions; Samsung's high-efficiency, environmentally-friendly commercial airconditioning solution; and Clyde Bergemann Africa's ash handling and pneumatic conveying solutions for modern power stations, to name but a few.

We look forwards to March, in which we feature pump systems and we introduce a new feature, demand and supply side energy management.

Until then.

Peter Middleton
