January 2010
The highlight of our January issue is our annual feature on Southern Africa’s Top Five Mining Projects. This feature focuses on projects which (in the opinion of the Editor) are noteworthy either in terms of their sheer scale or because they have unusual or innovative aspects.

The projects covered are the Ngezi platinum mine in Zimbabwe, the Pilanesberg platinum mine in South Africa’s Western Bushveld, the Trekkopje uranium project in the Namib Desert of Namibia, the Benga opencast coal project near Tete in Mozambique and the Khumani iron ore mine (and Phase 2 expansion) in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province.
