Now in its fourth year, Modern Quarrying has entrenched its position as a leading industry-specific publication in the country. Published on a quarterly basis, the magazine’s goal is to deliver objective reporting and incisive articles promoting the science and practice of quarrying and processing. This includes the aggregate and sand industry, dimension stone, open-pit mining, and the manufacture of high quality concrete, related products and services.
The aggregate and sand quarries are where the stone for this process is harvested and as such how can a magazine report on one without covering the other?
Coverage is done through face to face interviews with the people and companies that make up the quarrying industry, across South Africa and further afield. The magazine aims to keep readers abreast of the latest technologies for improving equipment life, plant productivity and product quality.
As the official journal of the Institute of Quarrying Southern Africa, Modern Quarrying was launched at the IQSA’s March 2007 conference and exhibition. The editor has been involved in the quarrying industry for well over a decade, and has built up friendships and relationships that are integral to the quality content of this journal.
The magazine, which is published on a quarterly basis, joins its highly successful sister journal Modern Mining, to form a powerful publishing duo covering the entire spectrum of the mining industry.
