January 2010
At the time of writing Modern Quarrying’s December-January issue, there were 157 days, 19 hours, 25 minutes and 30 seconds left with excitement mounting for SA’s premier showcase – the 2010 FIFA World Cup. While one cannot deny the tremendous benefit this will have for the country, one wonders how this month-long period is going to affect our industry as a whole?
Something else to look forward to soon, is the Institute of Quarrying’s 41st Annual Conference & Exhibition, which takes place in Durban on 18 and 19 March. Industry experts are presenting papers on a wide range of industry issues, and the usual top-class static exhibition will also be staged. We look forward to welcoming old friends and new at this prestigious networking event.
