Pat Shaw in early morning swim for charity

David O'Sullivan, talk show host at Radio 702 and Pat Shaw, CEO of Major-Tech after Pat had swum his 20-metre length at St Benedict's School in aid of the Holy Rosary School Debs swim-a-thon. David O'Sullivan, who went to school with Pat Shaw, put R500 on Pat's swim. The 24-hour swim-a-thon took place on 1 May to raise funds for an underprivileged school in Gauteng. It was a Guinness world record attempt to swim a continuous relay over a 24-hour period and many corporate challenges were set with young and old arriving in all shapes to each swim a length for this worthy cause. The swim-a-thon started at 7.30am and it was a fun-filled day and night with the organisers attempting to get 4 000 people to swim a 20m length, one at a time. Unfortunately, the record was not broken although a considerable amount of money was raised through donations and the sale of food and drink.
