Botswana Conference

The annual Botswana Resource Sector Conference, a ‘must' for anyone interested in minerals exploration and mining in Botswana, is being held this year on 29 and 30 June at the usual venue - the Gaborone International Conference Centre.
The keynote address will be given by the Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources. Projects to be covered will include the Boseto and Ghanzi copper projects, the planned AK6, Gope and BK11 diamond mines and the Mmamabula coal project. Botswana has also recently emerged as a potential uranium producer and there will be an update presented on Letlhakane, the country's first and most advanced uranium project. Two presentations will focus on the electricity supply situation in Botswana and Southern Africa generally while an existing mine, the Morupule coal mine, which feeds an adjacent power station, will also receive coverage.
The conference is organised by Capital Resources, managed by Rupert McCammon. Further information is available from emma@capresources.co.uk or website www.capital.bw/resources
