A proud moment for Stone-Stamcor. Receiving their ISO 9001 certificate from (middle) Adri du Plessis (accreditation manager, Price Waterhouse Coopers) are Brian Bingham (quality assurance manager, Stone-Stamcor), and Willem Ackerman (managing director, Stone-Stamcor).
Stone-Stamcor, one of the country's leading manufacturers of copper and aluminium compression lugs and ferrules, received their ISO 9001 accreditation from Price Waterhouse Coopers today.
"It's a proud day in Stone-Stamcor's history," said Willem Ackerman, managing director of Stone Stamcor.
"The ISO 9001certification will give our customers the assurance that they can expect products and services from Stone-Stamcor that will exceed their requirements," he said when he received the framed certificate from Adri du Plessis, accreditation manager for Price Waterhouse Coopers.
He paid tribute to the Stone-Stamcor employees who "embraced the challenges of meeting the exacting standards of ISO 9001".
Adri du Plessis said the ISO 9001 standard is the most successful product from "the world of voluntary international standardisation".
"There is hardly a place in the world where it is not known and applied," she said, explaining that ISO 9001 is a collection of practices that world-wide experience has found to be essential in organisations, if they are to be in control of the quality of their products and services.
"Price Waterhouse Coopers is honoured to be associated with Stone-Stamcor and to include them in our List of Certified Organisations," she said, adding that Price Waterhouse Coopers has a reputation for "being tougher than most, which makes this achievement all the more significant.
