Metso Mining and Construction Technology and Jim Harrison Design Associates (a member of the Taggart Global Group) have signed an agreement to cooperate in the field of coal processing equipment. Metso has licensed Jim Harrison Design to supply the range of Metso's Drewboy coal separation equipment into the coal processing and washing industries in Africa, India and Australia. In other areas, Jim Harrison Design will be able to provide coal processing support to Metso where required.
The Drewboy range is widely utilised for dense media separation, mainly in the coal washing process. It is produced in 6 different sizes, ranging from 1,2 m to 4 m inside width of bath, and has a feed capacity of up to 820 tph.
Metso supplies a number of other products into the coal processing sector, including slurry pumps, screens, screen media, wear protection products and crushers. Jim Harrison Design will be able to utilise this Metso equipment and technology in putting together complete processing and washing plants.
