Booyco Engineering and Paramount have developed a climate control system for the Matador, Marauder and Maverick range of vehicles. These systems are currently being produced in kit form for installation in Paramount vehicles being assembled in overseas assembly facilities.

Crane specialist GM Technical Services (GMTS), based in Vereeniging in the Vaal Triangle, has concluded an agreement with Street Crane Company of the United Kingdom to bring advanced overhead crane and hoist overhead technology to South Africa. The deal underpins employment, gives GMTS an opportunity for further growth and the capability to offer a complete range of cranes up to 50 t safe working load.

Murray & Roberts Cementation has secured the contract to deepen the existing ventilation shaft at Gold Fields' South Deep mine to a depth of 2 990 m. The shaft is being extended to match the man and materials shaft adjacent to it, which is currently the deepest rock hoisting shaft in the world. The shaft diameter will be 9,10 m.
