Following the past successes of Antonio Ruffini and Kirsten Kelly, another member of the Crown stable has been acknowledged in the 2010 Siemens Profile Awards for science journalism. Peter Middleton (see above on the right), editor of Mechanical Technology and African Fusion, received a merit award in the Energy category for his article: Cycling and the lead acid battery, published in Mechanical Technology in December 2010.
"I am very pleased to have caught the judges attention, particularly with this topic, which, although I found fascinating, is hardly a hotly debated topic among the science fraternity," says Middleton.
