IDXOnline hosted a breakfast at Blandford Manor, Johannesburg, on Wednesday 7 September. The presenter was Dennis Van Booma, general manager of PROCENTEC and chairman of Working Group ‘Training' at PROFIBUS International. The company PROCENTEC, based in The Netherlands, concentrates its products and services on PROFIBUS and PROFINET technologies. The first presentation gave insight into COMbricks from PROCENTEC, the first PROFIBUS and PROFINET based automation system that unites network components, permanent monitoring with ProfiTrace and remote I/O. COMbricks offers customers the ability to remotely see the status of their PROFIBUS Network in real-time. Functionality includes real-time web-based access to all information on the linked PROFIBUS segments (eg lost devices, syncs), repeater capability, redundancy capability, oscilloscope graphical views of signal voltages, recording of significant network events with related messages and email notification. The second presentation was about PROFINET. IDXOnline operates the PROFIBUS Competence Centre (PCC) and is a gold distributor for PROCENTEC.
