Waco Industries, distributors of industrial electrical products and ABB, power and automation technology group signed an agreement appointing Waco as a third party channel.
ABB, recognised internationally as one of the leaders in the design and manufacture of electrical equipment, have shown their commitment to South Africa with the recent opening of their head office, manufacturing and logistics centre in Modderfontein, Johannesburg.

Waco identified ABB as the ideal partner in the switchgear field with a strong brand profile equipped to provide customers with technical support and training. The challenge faced by ABB within the South African market was the increased purchasing in small quantities by customers who required immediate delivery of orders.
"This challenge on service delivery made Waco the ideal partner for ABB to engage as they had already established a track record of excellent service demanded by the industry," says Medhat Fayek, senior vice president ABB South Africa.
"Both ABB and Waco believe that the proven technological capability of ABB combined with the distribution capability of Waco will provide customers with first class service to support world-class products."
Waco Industries will therefore be a localised ABB distributor, thus making ABB products and solutions more accessible to a wider portion of the market.
"We appointed Waco Industries to help streamline the distribution of our low voltage switchgear within the South Africa because of their track record and local expertise in the market."
Waco Industries will focus on the entire range of ABB low voltage products as well as variable speed drives and motors.
