IESSA Congress 2012

IESSA's annual Congress will be held this year at Cathedral Peak in the Drakensberg from 13 to 16 May, with Sunday 13th being taken up with registration. The three days of the conference will cover a broad range of lighting topics presented by local and overseas lighting experts. In a departure from the normal format, the third day will be taken up with a panel discussion centred on the somewhat emotional topic: ‘Lighting and Energy Saving in South Africa: Are we an Industry in Disarray?' Focusing primarily on the roles of the NRCS and Eskom in the lighting industry, and on the need for regulations and standards, this promises to be a relevant, lively and hard-hitting discussion.

Trevor Milne, the President of IESSA, invites interested parties who would like to participate in the conference or contribute to the panel discussion to contact the IESSA office for more information and registration forms. Alternatively, those who are unable to attend the event are welcome to forward to him any comments or questions that could be brought up during the discussions for debate. Response to these questions will be uploaded onto IESSA's website at the end of the session.

This is an ideal opportunity to be heard and together we can further improve the lighting industry in South Africa. For further information contact either Sue or Trevor (details below).
