BMG has extended its portfolio of Tsubaki power transmission components to now include cable carrier systems and safety cables. (see below).

"The new Kabelschlepp range, which extends from standard individual components to complete system solutions, is enhanced by custom manufactured systems to meet exact requirements in diverse sectors," says Carlo Beukes, BMG's power transmission product manager. "These systems are available in heavy-duty steel and durable, lightweight plastic materials. Kabelschlepp cable carriers are designed to enhance productivity and minimise repair costs in various applications - from computer plotters and micro-sensitive test and measurement equipment, to offshore drilling rigs and high-speed automated machining centers."

The plastic range of cable carriers consists of the Basic-Line series (Solid and ‘Press Inn' cable carriers with fixed chain widths), Vario-Line (variable chain widths), the Tube-Line series (covered cable carriers with flexible energy conduits) and 3D-Line (cable carriers for 3D movements).

The Steel-Line series consists of steel cable carriers, which range from lightweight cable carriers to robust units for demanding applications. Also available are Life-Line safety cables. This series includes control, power and data cables, as well as coaxial, system and signal cables. Totaltrax complete systems consist of matched components - cable carriers, cables and connectors - with assembly plates, ready for connection.

New to the Kabelschlepp range are emergency cable carriers which are designed to prevent downtime and minimise repair costs. The ECC series, which detects a blockage in the travel lengths of cable carriers, automatically switches the system off to prevent damage to the entire cable system.

In addition to the emergency stop function, the ECC series also offers a bridging safeguard for the braking distance in both directions of travel. Once the blockage has been removed, the system is easily re-coupled and ready for operation immediately. This safety system is designed for applications with long travel lengths in ports and steel works, as well as for cranes, compost, coal or raw material conveyor systems.
