Advance Projects now has a total of six Pilot Crushtec products working on site and making their own aggregate has become a big advantage for the relatively new company in the crushing and screening industry.
Pilot Crushtec customer Advance Projects, selected a Terex Finlay J-1175 jaw crusher as the first step in its diversification into the crushing and screening industry. The company, which had already achieved much success in the bulk earthworks and civils business, sought to broaden its service offering and selected the unit based on the fact that there is a significant amount of work available for this type of machine. Its ease of operation was an additional draw card.
"Advance Projects aims to become a market leader in crushing and screening, which gave us the opportunity to help grow its business," says regional sales manager Nicolan Govender. "Apart from advising the company on the initial choice of machine, we put the business in touch with its larger customers who require extra crushing and screening equipment. Pilot Crushtec offered its considerable pool of knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the industry, and provided training on the principles of crushing and screening, rock types, machine throughput capacities and the production of crushed aggregate.
"Another crucial area was the pricing of new jobs and, apart from conducting a cost analysis on the equipment employed, we visited sites to get first-hand knowledge of applications before making recommendations," says Govender.
This high level of support is by no means limited to Advance Projects, as Pilot Crushtec is a business founded upon long-term and mutually-beneficial relationships such as these.
"The crushing and screening industry has great potential and is really opening doors for us. Having the ability to make our own aggregate is definitely a big advantage and what we are experiencing is definitely what we were aiming for," says Advance Projects director Aldert Nieuwoudt.
Advance Projects continues to progress and has secured a sizeable crushing contract in Ceres in the Western Cape. It now has a total of six Pilot Crushtec products working on site, including two Terex Finlay J-1175 jaw crushers, Terex Finlay 694+ and 683 SuperTrak mobile screens, a Terex Finlay C-1540 PRS cone crusher and an 883 reclaimer.
