Jendamark Automation has recently released the very successful German GWK Electronic Torque Wrench range in South Africa. This is a cost-effective solution that cannot be ignored in the international manufacturing markets.
The revolutionary tools are able to cover all the tightening strategies utilised in industry today. The wrenches make use of special angle sensing transducers and algorithms that dispense with the traditional magnetic base reference arm and angle encoder devices. This is especially important in the automotive industry with the tendency to use lighter nonmagnetic materials, eg aluminium and plastic in the production of motor vehicles.
Tools van be programmed from the interface panel of the tool, or via a RS232 link to a PC. Data logging of results provides information for development and statistical processes. The tools fill an important function in low volume production lines where the servo driven tightening technologies overkill in terms of capacity and price. The tools, with the correct management system, can offer process security on production lines.
