Siemens wireless modules offer manufacturers and consumers, in the mobile computing sector in particular, a versatile communication platform. These modules greatly increase the speed of wireless data transfer, and are particularly suitable for integration in notebooks, handhelds/PDAs and portable navigation terminals.
For example, apart from GPRS with data rates of up to 85.6 kbps (GPRS Multi-slot class 8 downlink) the MC35 supports conventional fax and data communication at up to 14.4 kbps, SMS messaging and reception of cell broadcasts.
Wireless modules are also available in the form of plug and play terminals for simple integration in systems. The MC35 Terminal measures only 65 x 74 x 35mm. With a mass of 130 grams it contains a SIM card reader, an audio interface for a handset, an antenna connector and a serial interface with a 9-pin socket.
Siemens Components is responsible for all new product development from Siemens IC Mobile.
