The government's newly-announced support programme for local manufacturing in the form of Technology Assistance Packages (TAPs) will boost localisation of technology development. Spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Departments of Trade and Industry and Public Enterprises, it will ultimately give local contractors and sub-contractors a bigger slice of government and state-owned enterprise spend on infrastructural rollouts.
