The April 2010 edition features Test & Measurement, Wireless Systems and Design & Software.

Then, an article by Allan Breitmayer and David Pollack at Sierra Wireless considers utilities to empower the Smart Grid by exploiting secure and intelligent, end-to-end, digital two-way communications infrastructure to increase system reliability.
Wireless Systems: The first article by Steve Cooper at Axis Network Technology, USA, considers Digital Radio Techniques for energy efficient OFDM base stations. The second article, from information supplied by Poynting Antennas, considers boosters for USB 3G modems using a novel adapter to connect a specialised antenna to the USB device. An article from information supplied by Beyond Wireless, proposes a technology solution to simplify SCADA systems and to provide more affordable solutions for smaller operators. Last, Bennie Langenhoven at Tellumat briefly compares VoIP with DECT as a wireless office telephony solution.
Design & Software firstly presents Part III of a series of articles: Cooling strategies for appropriate, effective and reliable electronic packaging are reviewed by Dr. Ing. Adam Pawlowski, from Schroff's perspective. Then, Dr Michael Heimlich at Applied Wave Research reviews the corporation's automated circuit extraction ACE) technology. Finally, John Mc Loughlin at J2 Software briefly reviews the company's SystemSkan solution to ensure effective system compliance.
