is now stocking the newQ-series range of cable ties and fixing components
from HellermannTyton, the leading supplier of cable management products. The launch
comes as the two companies celebrate 15 years of working together in Europe. The Q-series
offers intelligent cable fixing products including the Q-tie range of cable ties. These incorporate
an open head design that enables a quick and simple installation even under difficult circum-
stances, such as using work gloves and having a restricted view. They also offer an integrated
pre-locking function which means they can be unlocked, making them ideal for applications
where additional cables need to be added to cable runs prior to final assembly. Q-ties are
available in a range of sizes, colours and materials making them suitable for a wide range
of applications across many industries. The Q-series range is completed with the addition of
self-adhesive and screw fixed cable tie Q-mounts and also a number of identification Q-tags,
both of which complement the Q-tie range. KevinThompson, General Manager Maintenance
at Electrocomponents, commented: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 15 years of working
with HellermannTyton in Europe. As a global strategic supplier the partnership forms an im-
portant part of our maintenance strategy, enabling us to meet our customers’ needs with the
best possible prices, product availability and service across a comprehensive product range
worldwide. We will continue to develop and invest in the relationship. Steve Salmon, chief
executive officer of HellermannTyton, said: “Over the
past 15 years our relationship with RS has gone from
strength to strength, helping us to ensure that new
product introductions are a success. RS always sup-
ports product launches with stock in place and provides
us with a means of reaching a more diverse customer
base quickly and effectively. The launch of the Q-series
range is another example of an innovative Hellerman-
nTyton product being introduced as a stock line by RS.”

obust X Series industrial gear units on an independent platform are produced by
SEW-
EURODRIVE
.With their finely graduated size, they cover a torque range of up to 475 kNm.
Recently, the German drive automation specialist rounded off the lower power range of this
series and is now also offering the proven gear units for the torque range of 6.8 to 475 kNm.
The extremely large gear ratio of 6,3 to 450 is evidence that with its X Series, SEW-EURODRIVE
has met all the requirements for a complete, comprehensive range of industrial gear units.
When it comes to helical and bevel-helical gear units, nearly any mounting position or shaft
arrangement can be implemented. The X Series’ finely graduated size and high power density
results in savings in terms of both weight and cost. The large amount of pre-defined accessory
equipment creates flexibility in terms of adjusting the unit to each respective application. This
includes a wide range of modular options such as motor adapters and mounting flanges,
backstops and cooling systems as well as sealing systems for the most varied environmental
conditions.
One main area of application for SEW industrial gear units is conveyor systems in a wide
variety of industries. In this context, the gear units perform reliable service in driving conveyor
belts and bucket elevators for the horizontal and vertical transport of bulk material and packages.
They also run the travel and hoist drive on cranes or serve as a drive with reinforced bearings
for mixers and agitators. Moreover, X Series industrial
gear units are very popular in the mining industry
among others. SEW-EURODRIVE compiles drive pack-
ages for the customer that include such components
as industrial gear units, a motor, couplings, brakes
and steel frames. In this case, customers benefit from
the fact that they can obtain the complete, fully as-
sembled drive package from a single source.
