An innovative new jaw crusher, the A50, has been launched by Astec Industries. This is the first model in Astec’s new A-series line of jaw crushers, and it sets a new standard in crushing performance, Astec says.
Drawing on the proven legacy of Pioneer, Telsmith and Osborn Jaw crushers, the A50 is an evolution of decades of engineering excellence. Designed for demanding primary applications, the A50 delivers durability and performance. It includes many new features for safer operation and maintenance.

Engineered for excellence, the A50 jaw crusher features a keyed and bolted frame that eliminates high-stress welded joints for enhanced structural integrity and long-term durability. The machine’s solid side plates have removed weak points and cutouts in the mainframe side plates, boosting reliability and adding strength where required. A cast swing jaw with angled wear plate prevents material bridging and strengthens high-stress zones for superior performance under heavy loads.
Other exceptional features and benefits of the A50 are longer liners with an improved nip angle, to maximise material grip, reduce wear and increase crushing efficiency; interchangeable fixed and swing liners, which extend wear part life, simplify maintenance and lower operating costs; and patented interchangeable toggle assemblies with hydraulic and mechanical options. These eliminate heavy wedges and side plate cutouts for fast, safe adjustments and quick resets after an uncrushable event.
The A50 boasts reduced horsepower requirements and a class-leading stroke that delivers higher capacity, thanks to its high-inertia, heavy-duty flywheels. Specially engineered rubber mounts isolate crushing forces, reducing the impact on chassis frames and mounting structures.
