It’s all systems go for the NAACAM SHOW 2025, the National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers (NAACAM)’s showcase of South Africa’s automotive component manufacturing excellence. This year the show will be hosted in Nelson Mandela Bay for the first time.
Taking place every two years, this year it is presented in partnership with the Automotive Industry Development Centre Eastern Cape (AIDC-EC) at the Boardwalk Hotel ICC in Gqeberha on 13 and 14 August 2025.
The NAACAM SHOW is the premier forum for showcasing the breadth and depth of capabilities within the South African automotive component manufacturing sector and explores global developments that are influencing the future of the automotive industry. This worldclass exhibition, with more than 130 cutting-edge exhibiting brands and affiliated networking and knowledge-sharing events such as site tours, a golf day and industry dinner, also incorporates a two-day conference during which international and local speakers will share insightful presentations and contribute to engaging discussions. With over 1 200 visitors expected, the NAACAM SHOW brings together a diverse group of automotive component manufacturers, sector stakeholders and service providers, playing a pivotal role in inspiring role players, advancing knowledge and fostering collaboration within the local automotive components sector.
NAACAM CEO, Renai Moothilal, says that the decision to host this important event in Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) was made due to the city being regarded an important hub of South Africa’s automotive manufacturing sector. ‘The NMB metro is at the centre of South Africa’s automotive industry. Being home to 42% of our members and more than half of the automotive original-equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in South Africa, it makes sense to celebrate this industry in the province that derives a substantial economic benefit from it in terms of job creation, skills and technology transfer, and related services. Together with our host partner, the AIDC-EC, we look forward to exploring the local and global dynamics that are shaping the future of South Africa’s automotive value chain.’
Thabo Shenxane, CEO of the AIDC Eastern Cape, says that the organisation is honoured to support this platform, which brings together key stakeholders from across the automotive component manufacturing value chain. ‘This show is a vital platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and promoting the component value chain. Partnering with NAACAM reaffirms our dedication to the development of the component manufacturing sector and the broader automotive ecosystem, and we are pleased to host the event in the Eastern Cape, the heart of the automotive manufacturing sector.’
In delivering his State of the Province address earlier this year, Eastern Cape Premier, Hon Oscar Mabuyane, was clear in his administration’s commitment to manufacturing and noted its excitement for Gqeberha to be hosting the NAACAM SHOW 2025.
With local component manufacturers, sector service providers and support agencies on show, the exhibition promises a dynamic platform for highlighting the scale of the automotive component sector and its supporting ecosystem. Running concurrently, the conference will address the critical topics that are shaping the future of a rapidly evolving automotive industry, ranging from global trade, component design, supplier requirements and aftermarket development, to sustainability, mineral beneficiation, transformation and skills development in a digitised era. Attendees will gain invaluable insight from a diverse range of local and international industry leaders, policymakers and experts who will engage in thought-provoking dialogue to advance the sustainable growth of the South African component manufacturing sector.
