The Empowerment and Recognition of Women in Construction Awards saw its beginnings in 2019 when the concept was developed within the cidb, with the name and philosophy launched shortly after.
The aim of the Empowerment and Recognition of Women in Construction Awards (ERWIC Awards) is to encourage excellence among women and commitment among stakeholders to support women in their professional growth and development. It also aims to promote role models for women in lower grade construction categories and motivate women in the higher grades.
The Steering Committee had a significant task at hand to formulate the categories, ensuring all aspects of the cidb registered membership could participate equitably. It was important to identify areas of the industry that needed inclusion and recognition – such as transformation, mentorship and, of course, majority female ownership.
Here are the deserving winners.
