Creating awareness and following in the footsteps of the founder of Cummins, Clessie Cummins, who, in 1931, undertook a promotion tour of America, Cummins South Africa embarked on its first South African tour in July 2016.
The tour took place on a large, impressive red truck carrying two generators – a 315 kW gas generator (it can work on natural gas, LPG or any methane gas... a green opportunity).... and a 90 kVA diesel unit capable of powering a couple of SMEs, a small industrial manufacturing company or a school, perhaps. Kenneth Gaynor, power generation director, Cummins southern Africa, discusses the initiative.
