The SAIEE Training Academy is introducing its line-up of courses, including a number of new courses, for the year ahead. All courses carry CPD points and are presented either online or face to face. The 2025 CPD Training Calendar is accessible from the institute’s website, via the Events Calendar, and those interested can click on the relevant link to source more information directly and to register for the course they want to pursue.
The SAIEE Training Academy offers various CPD accredited training courses throughout the year.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a fundamental aspect of any career in all engineering disciplines. It ensures engineers keep up to date by advancing their skills and knowledge regularly. The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) highlights that all members of professional engineering institutions within the engineering sector are obliged to pursue CPD. One of the main functions of the professional engineering bodies is to support the improvement and development of their members and, in this respect, the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) works alongside ECSA to advise CPD by providing guidance, resources and training programmes.
However, the SAIEE notes that anyone choosing to attend its CPD training courses does not need to be a member of ECSA.
