Registration is open for Steinmüller Africa’s 2026 Boiler Technology Course. The engineering firm presents this training programme with the aim of extending the specialised skills it holds to a new generation of technicians keen to excel in the energy sector.

Boiler technology training from the experts
Registration for Steinmüller Africa's 2026 Boiler Technology closes 20 March 2026.

The five-day online training programme, scheduled to run from 13 to 17 April 2026, aims to transfer decades of proprietary frontline data to young engineers and welders in the industry.

Steinmüller Africa has long been a key player in  country’s energy sector. It is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for close to 20 000 MW of Eskom’s installed generation capacity. It also operates the continent’s only Cojafex Induction Bending Machine and holds the exclusive national qualification for explosive welding in the power generation sector.

The company shares its operational experience in a training masterclass.

"The challenge of stabilising South Africa’s energy supply and simultaneously building a new pipeline of highly skilled technical experts is one we take seriously," said Moso Bolofo, Director at Steinmüller Africa. "This course shares critical knowledge from the people who work on these systems every day with the professionals who will be responsible for keeping the systems running tomorrow and into the future.”

The training programme

Developed by Steinmüller Africa's own experts, the intensive, virtual course explores all aspects of steam boilers as used for both utility and industrial purposes.

Modern boiler engineering requires highly specialised knowledge across multiple disciplines, from thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow to advanced materials, firing systems, complex control systems, and specific water chemistry. This boiler technology course brings these critical elements together in a concise, interactive format designed for knowledge transfer.

The 2026 programme covers eight mission-critical modules.

  • Introduction to boilers
  • Process design
  • Mechanical design
  • Piping design
  • Boiler construction
  • Boiler operation and plant availability
  • Boiler maintenance
  • Metallurgy

Accreditations and investment

Beyond upskilling, the course directly addresses the tightening regulatory landscape for local engineering professionals. The masterclass is fully accredited by the South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering (SAIMechE), carrying five Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points for the participants.

The course will run daily from 08:30 to 16:30. The cost for the five-day programme is R14 578.37 (excluding VAT) per person.

Strict capacity limits

Although the digital format removes geographic barriers for professionals stationed at remote mines or regional power stations, Steinmüller Africa has capped enrolment to enable high-quality, interactive engagement between instructors and the training participants.

Industry professionals are urged to secure their seats before the registration window closes on 20 March 2026.
