Peter Clearkin will join Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as MD and Partner at the firm’s Johannesburg office on 1 September, bringing a wealth of experience to the organisation.

Peter ClearkinClearkin has 21 years management consulting experience and will be a member of the firm’s Industrial Goods practice, with a deep focus on mining. Prior to joining BCG, Clearkin was a Partner at Bain & Company South Africa where he has been driving Bain’s Mining and Industrials work in South Africa and Africa for the last 15+ years.

Clearkin’s primary area of expertise lies in performance improvement and turnarounds for large industrial and mining clients. In these engagements, he advises clients on company strategy, organizational redesign, cost reduction, productivity improvement and mine strategy/planning. He has done work across almost all commodities in South Africa and Africa, in mechanised, conventional, opencast and underground operations.

Clearkin holds a master’s degree in engineering from Queen’s University, Belfast. With his appointment, BCG’s senior team now counts 26 partners in Africa of which 13 are based in Johannesburg consolidating BCG’s leadership in the local premium consulting market.
