The start of 2022 is more than simply another happy new year for the management and staff of Swan Electric (Pty) Ltd, an industry renowned supplier of low voltage electrical equipment. This year marks a whole new beginning, as Swan moves into its new Head Office located in Corporate Park North in Midrand.
Although Swan has just moved up the road, the new premises offer a much-needed increase in office space, warehouse space, as well as space to accommodate all sorts of new services offered to Swan customers. Through the tough economic conditions caused by the COVID-10 pandemic, Swan has continued to achieve significant growth in market share nationally.
CEO, Brendyn Meyer says that this growth has necessitated a move to much bigger premises that can accommodate Swan’s current growth. “We are excited about our massive new warehouse space as it affords us the opportunity to significantly improve our stock holding, as well as to broaden our product basket even further,” says Meyer. When asked about the secret of Swan’s success over the past two to three years, Meyer responded, “We have built a very strong team that is fully committed to ensuring a positive experience for our customers. We have worked hard to improve the quality of our brand, and equally as hard to back the quality of our products with excellent customer service. Rather than just being a supplier of products, our aim is to build a longer-term partnership with our customers. To this end, we offer a range of additional value-adding services such as technical training and marketing support to our customers. It is this combination of factors together with a lot of hard work that is driving our growth. We believe that our current growth trajectory is set to continue into the future and our new premises will support this growth”.

One of the exciting new developments afforded by the new Swan premises is a dedicated product training area. Customers can arrange for product training for their own sales staff. Swan employs a technical specialist who oversees the development of customised training programmes. “Our customers really value the technical product training, as it benefits them by uplifting their own service and ultimately their own sales,” says Meyer. “We use the training facility for continuous development for our own sales staff as well. In this way, we can ensure that our staff are constantly improving their technical knowledge, putting them in a position to offer the best possible advice to customers.” The new premises also offer several breakaway areas, work hotspots for those just needing a few hours of office space, and spacious offices. This ensures that staff are comfortable and have all the resources required to perform at their best.
Swan has branches nationally and in KwaZulu-Natal is represented by Switch Technique (Pty) Ltd. Stevan Elion, Managing Director of Switch Technique KZN (Pty) Ltd has been instrumental in the growth that has been achieved in the KZN area.
In nature a pair of swans forms a lifelong bond and partnership. Meyer says that this is the basis of the organisation’s philosophy: to build long term mutually beneficial partnerships with customers. “A lot of hard work is being invested into researching exactly what customers in our different markets need, and then developing product and service offerings that match these requirements. This is a company to watch. Our Swan brand is flying high!”
