What does the average South African family pay for electricity every month? Too much. And with electricity tariffs set to rise even more next year, there’s no better time to replace your energy-guzzling geyser with a no-leak, no-burst integrated heat pump (IHP) geyser.

The geyser’s stylish, durable tank is engineered to remain cool to the touch, ensuring added safety for households with children and pets.

The integrated heat pump (IHP) geyser was designed to address household headaches, particularly exorbitant electricity bills. It does this by using far less electricity (up to 85% less) than a conventional geyser, while giving reliable hot water on demand.

In comparison to the 3.5 kW of energy used by the average 150 l geyser, the 200 l IHP geyser operates on less than half a watt. That’s less than a kettle. Conventional geysers also cycle through two to three rounds of heating throughout the day, pushing power usage to roughly 11 kW per day, while the IHP geyser is always on, providing 50 l more hot water, uninterrupted for less than 1.8 kW per day.

This reduces water-heating power usage by up to 85%, resulting in savings of almost R26 000 in the first year alone. After which, users continue to save every year: usage remains low, even as electricity prices shoot up.

There’s also no need for timers, geyser breakers, geyser blankets, heat pumps or other accessories. The IHP geyser can heat water to 75°C – compared to a conventional geyser’s 55°C. For an extra-hot shower on chilly mornings, it also features a 2 kW backup element for speedy heating. Water temperature and other settings are controlled remotely with a smart app, so there’s no need to fiddle with switches and valves.

To prevent geyser bursts, the geyser is crafted from stainless steel, which does not leak or burst, and comes with a 10-year warranty, setting a new benchmark in reliability and thermal efficiency.

Unlike conventional roof-mounted geysers, the IHP geyser can be installed at ground level, in the garden, garage or inside the house, making it far easier to access for routine maintenance.

The geyser’s stylish, durable tank is engineered to remain cool to the touch, ensuring added safety for households with children and pets. This thoughtful design combines practicality with peace of mind and complements contemporary living spaces. This reimagining of both placement and safety features is truly an innovation in home water heating technology.

The IHP geyser is the brainchild of Power4Less, one of the country’s leading suppliers of energy efficiency solutions. The geyser is backed by some of South Africa’s most trusted brands, including Nedbank as the official financier, the Institute of Plumbing South Africa (IOPSA) as the preferred installer, and Builder’s Warehouse as the preferential supplier.

As Power4Less CEO Nafisa Fareed highlights: “With water heating costs accounting for nearly 60% of a household’s electricity bill, and tariffs climbing year after year, the IHP geyser gives our clients value, not just in theory, but in measurable returns on their electricity bill from the first month.”

Homeowners can purchase the IHP geyser via the Nedbank Avo platform, Builder’s Warehouse outlets (in-store and online), or directly through Power4Less.
