and coarse separation – which is ideal for the harsh environ-
ments the units work in here in South Africa.“Gradeability is
also exceptional,”he says,“and the optimal combination of a
variable piston pump and trammingmotor, provides excellent
mobility in difficult terrains.”
Other key features include:
• Auto rod changer:A simple and reliable linear chain-driven
rod changer offers trouble-free operation in the cabin.
• Sliding-type dust hood: Allows the operator the visibility
to see the collar of the borehole while drilling.
• Centralised electronic control panel:Allows for easy electri-
cal checking and maintenance.
• Powerful dust collector:The dust collector’s strong suction
power enables the elimination of dust, with its air-pulsing
system preventing the filters from clogging with dust.
• Oscillation: Independent track oscillation provides safe,
smooth and efficient mobility in rough terrain.
• Powerful hydraulic drifter: The optimum design provides
high penetration rates together with maximum drilling
economy.
“These machines are designed for hard work,” Labuschagne
says. “Just as an example, we have one unit in operation
currently with over 8 000 hours on the clock. It still has its
original Cummins engine,Bosch pumps and GHH air-end and
is living up to and exceeding the JunJin factory warranty of
12 months/2 000 hours on all machines. The price is good,
parts are easily available, and themachines are reliable, which
is what we require in our business.
“We work hard at maintaining our fleet of machines to the
highest standards,”he says,“which ensures the quality service
required by our clients. We also try and standardise on our
equipment in terms of availability, reliability, utilisation and
efficiency, allowing us to provide our clients with the service
they expect and deserve.”
Na-Sera’s drilling equipment comprises crawler drill rigs,
hydraulic drill rigs and portable compressors; while its plant
hire division provides compressors, telescopic and crawler
drill rigs, bulldozers and hydraulic hammers.
“The provision of reliable equipment with the necessary
support and high standards of maintenance, is what our cli-
ent’s want,” Labuschagne says, adding that the company is
currently operating in the mining and quarrying industry as
Drilling operation is simple with the pilot, hydraulic control unit. By applying
full hydraulics for the main function, there are no electronic problems.
a drilling, blasting and plant hire provider.“We are committed
to sustainable growth, and in offering best practice to the
industries we serve; that is why we are a major owner of the
JunJin hydraulic rock drill range of equipment.”
At the time of writing,Na-Sera has 11 JunJin units working
in Rustenburg and Steelport.

Na-Sera has an impressive client base based on its sound reputation in the mining industry. The JunJin machines are rugged and ideal for the harsh enviro-
ments in which they work, such as the one shown here at the Kalgold operation.
