Electricity and control june 2016On the doorstep of Winter, and most of us are warm and connected... thanks to an Eskom that is well on its way to recovery. Miraculous, could we say? Or are we simply oblivious of what has been going on behind the Utility’s boardroom doors for a very long time?

We have it on the highest authority that ‘load shedding’ is an evil of the past. Unfortunately, electricity price-hikes... and the associated escalating prices... are an evil of the future. While the Department of Energy’s 2016/2017 budget of R7,5 billion will go a long way towards ensuring that many more households have electricity... we have to wonder how many of those households will be able to afford it.

Keep warm this Winter!
