BEKA Schréder visited the children at Arebaokeng Hospice in Tembisa on Thursday, 10 December 2015, to celebrate Christmas with them. Arebaokeng Hospice – founded by Mrs Flora Modiba, a former professional nurse – is a non-governmental organisation focused on offering palliative care related services to the needy within the Tembisa Community and surrounding area in Johannesburg. It also provides care for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC).
It is for these children that BEKA Schréder wanted to make a difference.
Arebaokeng Hospice provides an afterschool service for 120 children, assisting them with their homework and providing a nutritious meal before they go home. BEKA Schréder donated much-needed school stationery for the children. Employees of BEKA Schréder also contributed and donated toys and toiletries. Buckets were filled with sweets and each child received a gift, followed by a lunch with their friends.
‘Mama Flora’ is a true inspiration and has helped many in need in the Tembisa Community.
