Through the integration of WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff, the company’s senior leadership team has been focused on ensuring that a successful, sustainable business emerges for the benefit of all its people and clients. In looking to safeguard the continued success of the Quality Services (QS) division, the decision was recently concluded to sell QS to Vumela Industrial Consultancy.

“Our focus in 2015 was to improve our competitiveness and rebuild the Quality Services division. Due to the hard work and focussed effort of the QS team over this time, the business’ competitiveness has improved and we believe this sale to Vumela underpins the realignment of the QS business to the niche sector in which it operates,” says Mathieu du Plooy, managing director of WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff, Africa.

The QS business has been sold as a going concern, which guarantees continuity of client service. Our clients can look forward to continuing to work with the people they know and trust under the Vumela banner.

“It’s always been our business practice to align our staff compliment to the contractual requirements of our clients. As such we gave significant consideration to the sale of the QS business over a lengthy process, as we wanted the best possible home for our people employed in this space. That said, this transaction looks to further align the business to operate successfully in this specialist arena – where the business will be led by former Parsons Brinckerhoff Africa manager, Duran David. We wish everyone in QS a prosperous future under the Vumela banner, which we have no doubt it will be,” concludes Du Plooy.
