Deelkraal Wildlife Reserve, a stunning Waterberg home to a large and diverse population of wildlife, including Buffalo and the rare Sable, Roan and Tsessebe antelopes, has acquired Polaris Ranger utility side X side vehicles for various operations on the farm. The new vehicles, a Polaris Ranger 570 Crew and a Ranger 900, join the reserve’s fleet which includes a Linhai 260XL, a Polaris Sportsman 800EFI and a Polaris Sportsman 300.

The Polaris Ranger ProStar engines are purpose-built, tuned and designed alongside the vehicle – resulting in an optimal balance of smooth, reliable power. Both the ProStar 570 (44 HP) and 900 (68 HP) engines were developed with a combination of high power density, excellent fuel efficiency and ease of maintenance.

The new Polaris engine management system (EMS) delivers optimal torque and horsepower, as well as smooth throttle at all speeds and in reverse. The EMS, paired with the ProStar engine and clutching advantage, enhances fuel economy. In addition, the Polaris true AWD advantage ensures that all four wheels engage automatically when the vehicle needs more forward traction. It will revert back to 2WD when it does not require this.

Rachel Hughes, Deelkraal’s assistant GM, says that the team is very satisfied with the performance of the Polaris machines. “They are powerful, reliable and hard-working. Also, even over the most difficult terrain, they provide a smooth and secure ride,” she says.
